Two Ritz-Carlton Openings Today

The Ritz-Carlton is celebrating the opening of two new hotels today on opposite sides of the world. The Okinawa property is the first luxury resort in Japan for Ritz-Carlton and the other is a renovation in downtown Montreal.

The Ritz-Carlton, Okinawa (pictured above) expresses its spirit through traditional Japanese landscaping and holy water ponds;  and with its contemporary structures that include red clay roof tiles and white walls. The resort features golf courses, multiple restaurants and an outlying Spa by ESPA with indoor and outdoor treatment spaces all within a deep forest motif.

The Ritz-Carlton, Montreal reopened after a two-hundred million dollar renovation. The facade was preserved and restored, the public spaces updated and the guest rooms renovated. The architects strove to highlight the stately aspects of the original building; but also gave guests modern luxuries like motion sensor lights and automatic thermostats.
