Sponsored Post: Spring Clean Your Make-Up Cabinet

This weekend, I did something I’ve been dreading for a while…I cleaned out my makeup bags. Granted, as a beauty writer and editor, I have the privilege of having overflowing makeup bag(s), but not only were the disorganized, worse, I was in a makeup rut because I could never find anything when I was rushing to get out the door in the morning.

It was time for drastic action. I combined four smaller bags that I had organized by makeup type (eyes, lips, cheeks) and combined them into one larger Caboodle. I cleaned out numerous mascaras (they generally have a shelf life of six months) and lip glosses that were so old they had separated.

In my Caboodle, which is admittedly still chock full or products, I have my eyeliners, mascara and brow pencils in the top container and my various blushes, bronzers and eye shadows in the base. My brushes are in their own stand up mug, which helps to keep them clean and organized and I made room for my tinted moisturizers and foundations in my medicine cabinet.

Speaking of my medicine cabinet, it didn’t escape my scrutiny either. One thing I realized from cleaning my makeup bag is that less is definitely more. All you really need when it comes to skincare are one easy set of reliable products. Some of my favorite no-fuss, no-muss products are from Simple Skincare.

My Simple Skincare Must-Haves

I love the Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash. It cleanses my skin without any harsh irritants so it doesn’t leave me feeling tight or overly dry. For daytime, it’s the Simple Skincare Vital Vitamin Day Cream with SPF 15 and at bed time, I reach for Simple Skincare Vital Vitamin Night Cream.  Both are hydrating with the added benefit of vitamin E and pro-vitamin B-5 and no fragrances or dyes. Lastly, I dab on a little of the Simple Skincare Soothing Eye Balm to energize my eyes.

Happy spring!
