My quest for more energized looking skin is never ending, but at least I’m not alone. L’Oreal created its L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Skin Illuminator Tinted All-in-1 Moisturizer – SPF 20 to help women improve dull and uneven skin tone in a single step.
How it works:
The Skin Illuminator contains Chromatic Micro-Capsules that the company claims instantly match skin tone upon contact and auto-correct uneven skin tone to help fight, redness, dark spots and dark circles; Perline-P to improve your skin quality over time correcting skin irregularities, pores and redness; and vitamin E and Broad Spectrum SPF 20 for hydration and protection.
How does L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Skin Illuminator Tinted All-in-1 Moisturizer – SPF 20 perform?
The tinted moisturizer comes out in a pinkish, pearly white shade, goes on easily and feels soothing on my skin. I love the glow it imparts, it reminds me of the Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream (and is a fraction of the cost). But it doesn’t have nearly enough coverage for my tastes. Granted, I need a lot of help these days, but it’s no match for my dark circles and stubborn, decade-old brown spots. That said, I have started using it as a primer for my other tinted moisturizer. It’s a major plus for me that it contains Broad Spectrum SPF 20.
As for the long term benefits, I haven’t used it long enough yet, but in company-sponsored studies:
- 82.8% said the product leaves their skin visibly smoother
- 62.1% said the product diminishes the look of discolorations and fatigue
