Review: John Frieda Colour Refreshing Gloss

Don’t you hate that period about 3 weeks after getting your hair colored when you’re not quite ready for a visit to the salon, but your color has started to fade? I’m a redhead and that’s the top reason I try to wash my hair no more than twice a week–red is notorious for fading. Well now I can go ahead and take that Bikram yoga class AND wash my hair after without worries. The new John Frieda Colour Refreshing Gloss gives an instant color boost in the company of my own shower. The gloss is that step at the salon that your colorist will typically apply after color.

It is recommended that you use the gloss after you shampoo and condition on a weekly basis. I loved the bump it gave to my color–see my results above. What I didn’t love is that it made my hair so super soft. I realize that may be a benefit for some, but know that I generally avoid hair masks like the plague and never let any type of conditioner near my roots. My hair is fine and conditioner wilts it. FriedaThe  John Frieda Colour Refreshing Gloss comes in six shades, a warm and a cool for blondes, brunettes and redheads. I used the Warm Red that “Restores fiery copper tones and counteracts fading for rich, vibrant red color.” It just what my red hair needed. Now, if only I could do something about those grays…

You’ll find the John Frieda Colour Refreshing Gloss in drugstores. The six-application bottle has a suggested retail price of $12.99.
