Recently launched in the U.S. the hair line from Toni and Guy builds off the idea that your hair is your greatest accessory. I fully support this idea as my outfits and my makeup look different when my hair is styled differently. The concept behind the brand is:
Hair meet wardrobe is a philosophy born from a devout love of hair and fashion and the belief that style shouldn’t just be about the clothes you wear–but the entire look from head to toe and the attitude that goes with it.
The Toni and Guy hair products are broken into four ranges: Classic, creative, glamour and casual. Most of the products I like fall in the Casual line, including the Sea Salt Texturising Spray and Sculpting Powder (shown below). The glamour collection includes volumizing products; classic has smoothing and straightening and creative has waxes and sprays that are best suited for shorter cuts.
Mark Hampton, the Toni & Guy global ambassador, was kept busy during the recent London Fashion Week. My favorite look of his was the 70s jetsetter style he created for Mathew Williamson. “The 70s style blown-out look that we’ve done for this season has an effortlessly polished beauty to it,” Hampton says.
To recreate the style:
Prep hair with Leave In Conditioner on the ends to reduce any friziness. Next apply Glamour Volume Plumping Whip to the roots and blowdry with a round brush. When hair is dry, take sections and tong the lengths of the hair with the Glamour Curling Iron. Next, create a side part and tease the crown for volume. Finish with a spritz of Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray.
The Toni and Guy Hair products are available at Target for $14.99 each.
