A few years ago, I was really intent on cutting my hair and donating it to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. The charity, which donates wigs to women undergoing chemotherapy, requires 8-inhces of hair for a donation. But then my stylist scared me and said a chin-length bob wouldn’t flatter my longer face shape. And I chickened out.
If you’re like me and have wanted to support the brand’s efforts, but aren’t able to donate hair (for whatever reason), you’ll love the #8or8 Challenge. You can “choose your 8,” by either donating 8 inches of hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program or $8, to help create free, real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. It costs $800 to make one wig. Selena Gomez kicked off the program via Instagram earlier this week.
“Pantene Beautiful Lengths helps women with cancer feel better about themselves,” said Selena. “I love that you can support the cause in a variety of different ways with the #8or8 Challenge.”
