I’ve been a fan of Fresh Sugar Plum since the time it was introduced more than a decade ago. It gives lips a natural looking pinkish-purple tint, is moisturizing and has SPF 15. It’s my go to color on weekends when I wear makeup but want a more natural look. However, there are two things I don’t love about it.
- It melts fast. As much as I love all the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments, it’s not made for your beach bag. It gets soft quickly when it’s warm out, I’m guessing because of its high oil content, so leave these at home when you’re headed to the shore.
- The price. At $24 per tube, the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment is on the spendy side, especially for something I wear on a casual day.
Enter Covergirl Colorlicious Oh Sugar! The moisturizing lip tint launched earlier this year and the Jelly color is a dead ringer for my fave Fresh Sugar Plum. It’s equally soothing and lasts just as long. It hasn’t been warm enough to go to the beach yet, so I’m not sure what its melt-factor is (though with grapeseed oil and avocado butter it’s likely that it’s up there). But at a cost of $6.99, it’s less of an issue.
Covergirl Colorlicious Oh Sugar! comes in 10 colors. I’ve tested out the Caramel, which is popular with makeup artists and other beauty girls, but I find it to be a little too nude for my fair coloring, and Soda, which I’m OK with, but it takes a back seat to my favorite Jelly.
Covergirl Colorlicious Oh Sugar! is available at drugstores.
