I may not have time to eat sitting down these days, but one thing I refuse to give up is wearing makeup. That means I’m always on the lookout for makeup that does double duty, like Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer. As the name suggests, it’s a concealer and foundation in one.
According to the press release, it offers “full coverage without the weight” and contains “dual-sphere particles that absorb excess oil or add hydration”. Sounds like the perfect product so far!
I tested out the Fair color. I apply it by dotting it along my T-zone using the very cool wand applicator. I use extra along the sides of my nose because it tends to get red, then blend it all out with a light moisturizer. (I’m currently using Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet.) I’m not afraid of full coverage, but I do find this foundation a little heavy at the get go. The color does lighten a bit after it dries and you blend it and I can definitely skip the underage concealer—a major plus for those days when my son is in the bathroom with me trying to unravel yet another roll of TP.
Once the foundation is on, it feels silky smooth and looks natural. I don’t have any issues with it looking cake-y on my dry skin as the day goes on.
I am curious if I will find this too heavy once the summer finally arrives, but for now the Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer is my go-to foundation.
Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer is available in 20 shades and costs $27. It’s available on Clinique.com and wherever Clinique is sold.
