It has been called the “Pandora of Beauty” and BeautyDNA is exactly that. Like Pandora.com, the site uses a special algorithm to predict exactly what you’ll like, except in this case it’s skin, hair and body products instead of tunes. To get started, you answer a number of questions from what scents you like to what type of products you would use (i.e. hair mask, mousse, hairspray, gel, etc) to what type of ingredients you like and want to avoid (hyalruonic acid, peptides, mineral oil, etc.). Then each month you’re sent a full-size product along with a customized skin report for only $25.
You won’t receive the same type of product two months in a row (skin, hair or body) and you won’t receive the same product in a year.
The high end brands include Morrocanoil, SkinCeuticals, Revitalash, PCA Skin, Orlane, Natura Bissa and many more. In the two months I’ve been participating, I received a June Jacobs Elastin Collagen Serum, which retails for $130, and a Kiehl’s Creme de CorpSoy Milk and Honey Whipped Body Butter, which retails for $38. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed both (though as a beauty editor, I’ve used the Kiehl’s Body Butter Before.)
